How do I install the right drivers for MySnapper?
Once the Snapper Feeder is connected, Windows should match the correct driver. In some cases, for example if you used the old Snapper ActiveX driver (if you tried to top up on the old website), the Feeder may try and use the old driver.
To check which driver you have, or if you have installed MySnapper and your Feeder does not recognise your card, do the following:
- Plug in your Snapper Feeder.
- Open the Device Manager:
- Click on the Windows "Start" menu and opening the "Control Panel"
- Find the "System" icon and open it
- Click on the "Hardware" tab at the top and select "Device Manager".
The correct driver should be listed under "LibUSB-Win32 Devices" and should say "USB TAMA".
If the driver is listed under "Smart card readers" and says "TPOP", then you need to uninstall this driver:
- Open the properties of the "TPOP" entry (right click to get to properties)
- Click on the "Driver" tab and select "Uninstall"
- Then close the properties window.
If either device is not assigned to a driver, an exclamation mark will appear on the icon next to it. In this case you need to install the correct "USB TAMA" drivers:
- Open the properies and install, reinstall or update the driver. If you've already installed MySnapper, Windows shouldn't need to connect to internet, and should be able to find the newer driver automatically - It may take a minute to do so though! If given the option, select the "USB TAMA" driver.
- If you can't make Windows find the "USB TAMA" driver, be sure you've uninstalled the old "TPOP" driver as above, and then re-install the MySnapper application.
