I topped up my Snapper on the old website - Why doesn't MySnapper work?
The old website used different software (called 'drivers') to talk to your Snapper Feeder. If you used the old website and a Windows computer to top up your Snapper you may need to remove these old drivers. This can be done before or after installing MySnapper, but it is easier if you do it before the installation. Here's how:
First, check if you really do need to remove the old drivers:
- Plug in your Snapper Feeder.
- Open the Device Manager:
- Click on the Windows "Start" menu and opening the "Control Panel"
- Find the "System" icon and open it
- Click on the "Hardware" tab at the top and select "Device Manager". - In the list of devices, there may be an entry called "Smart card readers". If there is, expand this item by clicking on the arrow or plus sign next to it.
- If there is a device there labelled "TPOP", you need to un-install it.
If you don't see the "TPOP" device under "Smart card readers" whilst your Snapper Feeder is plugged in, you can download and install MySnapper now.
If you do see the "TPOP" device, un-install the drivers with the following steps:
- Open the properties of the "TPOP" device (right click on "TPOP" get at the properties), click on the "Driver" tab and select "Uninstall". Then close the properties window.
- Remove your Snapper Feeder from your USB port.
- You can now download and install MySnapper - But wait - Since you have had to remove the old drivers, it is advisable not to plug the Snapper Feeder back in to your PC until the installation is complete, or Windows may decide to reinstate the old drivers and you'll have to do this all again.
