  1. Good stuff, you guys handled it well. Took responsibility, took initiative, attacked the issue and didn’t muck around which is all people ever want from companies – everyone has mistakes and issues, just accept that and fix it asap which you guys did.

  2. I thought it was upfront and well handled. However it seems slightly overkill considering all the other charging discrepencies we get – I’ve come to accept these as an underlying cost for the convenience of a card (it’s not worth the effort to chase up each time a few cents are lost)

  3. Unfortunately, I witnessed an irate customer grill a hapless shopkeeper about the penalty fare issue. Because the customer was quite fired up and did not seem to be explaining his problem quite well, and the shopkeeper seemed unaware of the issue, the customer stormed off in a huff. It seems the customer assumed that the dairy was a part of the Snapper entity, even though all the dairy does is provide it as a mode of payment (and a way to reload it).

  4. 1. On the subject of penalties, is it true that if you fail to tag off, you not only get charged the maximum fare for the rest of that route but get billed an extra amount on top of that?
    2. How much is the extra penalty amount?

  5. Hi Montgomery

The penalty fare is calculated as the full cash fare to the end of the line based on where you boarded. There are no extra amounts over and above that

    Miki
