Why doesn't my ANZ issued Snapper USB work on my Mac?
If you have a Snapper USB that you obtained from ANZ, it is possible that it may not be compatible with your Mac. If you have one of these ANZ issued Snapper USBs and you cannot get it to work on your Mac please call us on 0800 555 345, or drop into our Wellington office.
To confirm that your Snapper USB is one of the affected models, please complete the following steps:
- Open Finder, and at the top of the screen click on the Apple icon on the Finder bar.
- Click 'About this Mac' and then 'More info'. You should now see the 'System Profiler' window.
- In the left hand 'Contents' panel, under 'Hardware', click on 'USB'.
- In the top right panel, you should now see the 'USB Device Tree'.
- Insert your Snapper USB and then refresh the System Profiler's view by pressing the Apple key and R.
- You should now see a device called 'PCSC Smartcard reader'.
If you see that your Snapper USB has a version number of 1.01 as shown below, yours is one of the affected devices. Please contact us.
