How do I tag on and off? Tag on by holding your eligible Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, or digital wallet device, against the card reader until you hear a beep and see a green tick. Bus Use the existing Snapper card reader onboard to tag on and tag off. Train Use the existing Snapper card readers located on each platform, primarily near entrances and exits. Tag on before boarding the train. At the end of your journey, tag off on the platform where you exit the train. You must use the same card or digital wallet device for both tag on and tag off when travelling by bus or train.
