Can I have more than one active pass at once?

You can only travel with a travel pass on services that your active passes are valid for (you can have three active passes at once – one 30-day bus pass, one 30-day rail pass, and one Metlink Explorer day pass.

If you travel on a bus or train that isn’t valid for your active travel pass, the Snapper reader will deduct the minimum boarding fare from the credit loaded on your Snapper when you tag on. When you tag off, the balance of the fare for your journey will be deducted from the credit on your Snapper.

Even if you regularly travel using a travel pass on your Snapper, it’s a good idea to also have some back up credit loaded onto your Snapper for emergencies.
