Collecting a refund

Snapper issues automatic refunds for any penalty that is incurred due to not being able to tag off the bus (i.e., due to a system or driver fault). In these instances, you don’t need to worry about getting in touch with us to request a refund.

If you think you’ve been unfairly penalized but have not received your refund in 2 working days, please get in touch with us.

Once your refund is ready, you can collect it immediately in the following ways:

  • Using the free Snapper Mobile app available from Google Play with an Android near-field communication (NFC) smartphone
  • Placing your card on one of our Snapper kiosks
  • Visit a Snapper Service Centre or retailer with your Snapper card and mention that you would like to collect your refund
  • Using the Snapper iOS app which is available on iPhone 7 or newer, running iOS 13 and above
